New Orleans Shower

My WONDERFUL friend Angie threw me a shower in New Orleans. Im so happy and grateful she did this, I know my grandmother would not be able to make the trip to Houston, neither would she. It was a small gathering, but everyone there was very special to me. I made out with some beautiful hand-made items. See the pics below.

This can also serve as my updated belly pic. Im 29 weeks here.

GREAT friends...Kylei (left) and Angie (right).
Cake (made by Angie).
Hooded towel, Kylei sewed Caleb's name on the hood. She also gave me everything underneath the towel (tub, baby Q-tips, bath toys, travel pack desitin and such for diaper bag, onzies, and a bunch of other great things).
Hand-made burb cloth made by Angie.

Angie also made 2 Saints burp clothes and a Saints blanket, with Caleb's name. A true Saints fan already.
My grandmother made this afganBottles...Im really excited about them...lol Thanks mom!
Pics of the other gifts...My mom got me my complete bathroom shower set, the carrier, a cute rattle, musical soother (for the crib, its not pictured here). After the shower, David and I got to ride Tony's 4-wheeler...so much fun!

Caleb in 3D

David and I decided to get a 3D ultrasound done. It was totally worth the money! We got a CD full of pics, a 20 minute DVD, and some 3D pics that they printed out for us. Here are some of the pics that we were able to take of our baby boy. Hes got mommy's nose and daddy's big toe. We are so in love with this little guy! We've got less than 12 weeks now! I will be 29 weeks on Friday.

He's smiling at you...

This is his right hand and arm by his face. At the bottom of his face, you can see his chest.
Caleb was a bit shy at first.
But we got him to loosen up and give us another smile!

My 1st Pregnancy Rant

Now that my belly has been getting bigger, the clothes are starting to fit a bit more snug. Im now in search for some comfy PJ's. Right now my t-shirts are still working (in another few weeks they wont), but some of the shorts are not. So I start doing some looking online just to see whats out there. I dont like a "dress" to wear to bed...I like a simple shirt and shorts (they dont have to match either). Why is it that EVERYWHERE I look has sleepwear sets with PANTS???? The last time I checked, that majority of pregnant women get HOT very easy. Im already hot natured. There is no way Im wearing PANTS or even capris to sleep in! Who thinks a woman will want to wear this to sleep in???? She would suffocate from heat exhaustion, even if the air is set to 60 degrees! Some women (like myself) are going to be big and pregnant in the heat of summer! Im gonna want to strip to down to underwear in July...lol

Anyways, so there is my rant. I know I'll find something. I'll prolly wind up going to a Goodwill to just find some clothes to get me through...I'll just buy the bigger sizes.

Just for Uncle Larry....

We've decided the baby's nickname will be.......Bob Jr.

For the rest of the freinds and family that have NO CLUE what Im talking about, and are curious why would I ever give my child a nickname like this, here is a short story.

When David and I were dating and still in high school, my Uncle Larry and Aunt Susie came to visit us in New Orleans. My dad took all of us out on the paddlewheels boat for the dinner cruise, and he had Dean, the other chief engineer, working that night. My dad was giving us the nickle tour of the boat and the engine room and such. We happen to run into Dean right outside of the engine room, and my dad starts introducing Larry, Susie, he knows me and my mom, and then he gets to David. His mind goes BLANK and he can not remember David's name. So what comes out? "This is Bob." From then on, David has been known as Bob to a few of my family members.

Uncle Larry, I hope you got a good laugh on this one! Miss you guys!

Kicking Caleb...

Ive been feeling Caleb move for quite some time now, its a wonderful feeling! David has been feeling his movements for about 3 weeks. Of course you must learn to be patient when waiting for Caleb to kick you.
I will poke him, very gently of course, hoping for him to kick back. Sometimes he does and sometimes he doesnt. David will come home and tell Caleb all about his day and wait for his kick. I think he knows hes waiting...lol As soon as David moves his hand, he kicks. Caleb is playing with his daddy. There are times though when I feel Caleb being very active and David is able to feel his movements. I cant tell just yet whether I feel movement from a hand or foot. I just know I feel a pretty good "jump".
The other day Caleb was dancing the salsa on my bladder. I had just gone to the restroom, and yet every few minutes I would feel a pang on my bladder making it feel like I had to go back.

What will we call the baby????

Caleb Micah James

24 weeks - 6 months already!

Time sure has flown by! It feels like just yesterday I found out I was pregnant. Ive taken another belly shot for those who have requested ;-P Its getting there, still dont have that round look, but thats ok. Went to the doc this week for a check-up, everything is good. Im up 8 pounds, which brings my total gain in this pregnancy to.......8 pounds! Thats right, I had not gained any weight until just recently...lol

Here is whats going on in week 24 with me and the baby:
How your baby's growing:
Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts him at just over a pound. Since he's almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), he cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but his body is filling out proportionally and he'll soon start to plump up. His brain is also growing quickly now, and his taste buds are continuing to develop. His lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once he hits the outside world. His skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.
In the past few weeks, the top of your uterus has risen above your belly button and is now about the size of a soccer ball.

And the buying begins....

So now that we know the sex of the baby, the urge to buy is un-controllable. There are so many cute things out to buy, and I want to BUY IT ALL! What we have purchased (or decided to purchase) are the crib, dresser, bedding set, and very few cute onsies. My dad will actually be making a chest (think blanket chest) and it should match the furniture in the baby's room, if not, I dont care. I know it will be beautiful.
Ive attached the pics below. I will of course take pics of the nursery when its complete in the summer.
Of course our baby boy would NOT be complete without the PROPER football attire. As most of you know David is a TRUE Saints fan, our little boy will learn to love (or love to hate) the Saints (see the last pic). This will be his Sunday dress (for about 10 min, then he will get it dirty...lol)
