Playing the Drums

About a month ago David and I were watching Maroon 5 on DirectTV. The video is a bit long (4 min), but you can see Caleb playing the drums. Fast forward to about the 2 1/2 minute mark and you can really see him get into it.

Before you ask, NO he does not need a drum set!

Caleb can Read!!!

Well, in his own way. It just sounds like babble, but you get the idea.

You might need to turn up your volume to hearing "the reading".

Pacifier Update

As some of you may know, we've been TRYING to get rid of the pacifier addiction, a.k.a. baby crack. UGH! David and I have started to HATE the pacifier...Caleb doesnt talk with that thing in his mouth. The teachers at daycare tell me he doesnt even ask for it there!!!! So I realize its just an association with us! He was sick a while back, and I feel bad so I gave in and gave it to him.

Well last Monday, David and I decided enough is enough. The only time Caleb will get the paci is at nap time and bedtime. Today is day 8 and we are doing great!!! The 1st few days he cried the whole way home from daycare. I was able to distract him with different things when I got home, but the ride home was rough. The weekend was a little more challenging, but we made it though...as long as we could distract him from thinking about it, he was ok.

Now...my new problem. Getting him to eat something other than crackers!!!!!!!!!!!! Crackers are ALL he asks for. Caleb is not a big meat eater, and thats ok....I know kids go though this phase. Lately he hasnt wanted noodles (which he loves), grilled cheese (also another fav), or even bananas. So Ive been finding healthier carb options, besides crackers (especially for daycare). He likes banana bread and these apple cinnamon muffins I make. He also likes biscuits or crescent rolls. More fruit is coming in season, so Ive been able to offer him other fruit besides bananas too.

One battle at a time. Once I know we've got the pacifier addiction down, I work harder on the food.
