38 week check-up

Im 38 weeks tom., but have my appts. on Thursday. Went to the doc today for my weekly check-up, and no progress (no dialation). Im ok with it, David is NOT...lol David gave Caleb a pep talk last week and warned him that no progress = grounding. Clearly Caleb is not threatened. Hes perfectly happy living it up in mommy's belly, and is not ready to make an early appearance.
Other than that, Ive gained a total of 20 pounds so far and blood pressure is great (110/82). Here is my 38 week belly pic:

Igloo Shower

Ive been at Igloo since March, and everyone there has made me feel so welcome. All the ladies were so nice to throw me a shower. I made out with some beautiful gifts.

When does the "uncomfortable phase" set in?

Uh...right about NOW! I knew it would come, and Im suprised I made it this far. But yes, now Im very uncomfortable! I cant find a good position to sleep, sit, stand, or walk in...lol. Everytime Caleb moves, which I still love, it hurts. Its true, love DOES HURT! All I can do is look down at my belly and tell Caleb "Im sorry mommy has no more room for you. If you want to stretch you need to come out."
Ive also found a few stretch marks. Of course I did not think I could go the whole pregnancy without them, but Ive been blessed to make it this far and only get a few. Instead of stretch marks they should be referred to as "war wounds" or "battle scars".
Im 36 weeks +, I'll be 37 this Friday, which is technically considered full-term. Caleb's room is completely finished, his clothes and bedding are washed, and he can come at anytime now. Ive even got my bag packed (for the most part).

35 Weeks and Maternity pics

Maternity Pics will be coming soon! Maria (SIL), was wonderful enough to take maternity pics of David and I yesterday. THANKFULLY we did not go out at 3pm! We took our outside shots at 9am, which it was still pretty warm..lol But Maria was awesome! She let me know when to wipe the sweat off my face, and to let me know when to apply more powder. I cant wait to see how they came out!
So until then, I took a 35 week belly shot. Last doctor visit said Im right on track. Ive only gained 16 pounds so far, blood pressure is still good, and Caleb is moving like crazy still. My appts. are now weekly!!!

SURPRISE!!!!!!!

David and I were BOTH very surprised to walk into our baby shower at my MIL's house this past Sat. We were under the impression to be taking maternity pictures. Latrell, Maria (SIL), and Mamita (MIL), pulled it off and were great liars! Maria actually made be believe that we would be doing outside maternity photos at 3pm on a Sat. in Houston weather (its 100 every day)! How could I have fallen for that?! Im very blessed to have such wonderful friends and family. Maria, being the awesome photographer that she is, took some AWESOME pictures at the shower.

Instead of cake, we had cupcakes....they were SO delicious!!!!

Just 45 days left

So Ive only got 45 days left til Caleb's due date. I dont think reality has set in yet, but my nerves are turning to excitement! God has truly blessed me with an uneventful pregnancy, but I think in return I need to make it through this HEAT! LOL

The Houston weather is starting to get to me. We havent had any rain in at least a month I think. The temps have been in the high 90's with a heat index in the 100's. Todays forecast said to expect temps at 100 degrees! Im really trying to make sure I stay hydrated, which is becoming harder to do. Everyday when I come home I find the lightest pieces of clothing and sit next to the fan...lol I have a feeling the heat is also suppressing my appetite. I find myself just wanting a bowl of cereal for dinner, nothing thats hot!

I had a doctors appt. last week and Ive only gained 12 pounds this whole pregnancy, but my belly is measuring right on track. Im having some slight hip pain at night, but thats normal. I also have the occasional lower back ache. The problem is solved by putting a pillow on my back when I sit down. Im trying to get at least 8 hours of sleep a night, and even when I do I still feel tired all day. They say that 1st trimester symptoms can come back in the 3rd. I was tired in the 1st, so I guess the fatigue has decided to show up again. I think Caleb is head down now, Im starting the feel the inside rib kicks more often, and when he has the hiccups I usually feel them in my left hip bone. Its VERY entertaining and I love it!

Every afternoon David comes home and talks to Caleb. As soon as David puts his mouth next to my belly, Caleb moves to him and pushes on his face. Its a wonderful feeling knowing that Caleb really does know the sound of daddy's voice. I cant wait for Caleb to be born just to see David interact with him....I know he will make an EXCELLENT father, because he already is. I love you babe!

The Nursery

We've finished the nursery! It came out beautiful! The only thing left to buy for the nursery is the mattress.
