The Date is SET!

Friday June, 11, 2010 Caleb will be getting his 1st set of tubes. David and I took Caleb to the ENT yesterday and tubes was the recommendation. Im sure he will find so much relief after having the tubes!

Heading to the ENT

Caleb has another ear infection. This makes number 2 in a month. The doctor is referring us to a ear, nose, and throat doctor. If she didnt refer us, I was going to ask for it. He needs tubes put in his ears, he just cant get rid of these ear infections. We have an appt. scheduled for Thursday. I'll keep everyone updated on what the doc says.

Summer time!!!

I got Caleb a little baby pool for the summer. He loves taking baths, so I figured this would be awesome!

Food is GOOOOOOOD

So about 2 months ago I slowly started introducing some "finger foods" aka small pieces of table food. I started with some Gerber puffs and Cheerios, which he loved. I think they actually helped his gums. So after I gave him the baby food, I would give him some puffs to snack on, well this all changed with he got sick a few weeks back. He didnt want his bottle or baby food, all he would eat was toast. I cut it up in small pieces and he went to town on it! Some times I put a very light spread of strawberry jelly, and he gobbled it up! Here is a lit of the table food he can likes to eat:

Eggs
Toast
Waffles (LOVES these!)
Pancakes
Mashed potatoes
Deli meat (cut into cubes)
Chicken
Mashed potatoes
Graham Crackers
Green beans (I can hide them in the mashed potatoes)
Strawberries
Cantaloupe
Pineapple
Grapes
Pears
Grilled cheese
Mac-n-cheese
Bananas
Cheerios
Rice Krispies
Corn
Peas

He will still eat some baby food as fruit or plain veggies. I can no longer offer him baby food like "Macaroni and Beef, or Broccoli with Cheese". No combination foods anymore, he wants the REAL stuff! Ive still got to get him to eat spaghetti, ravioli, and a few other things. I wouldnt doubt that in another 2-4 weeks, we are all table food!

No crawling and still no teeth! I will let everyone know as soon as it happens!!!

Sick, Update, and Mother's Day

So we've had a busy couple of weeks. David's aunt and uncle from Switzerland came in for 2 weeks. David and I were able to take a week off to spend time with them. It was wonderful to have them here and we were all sad to see them leave :( Caleb enjoyed interacting with the cousins (Angela and Jasmin).

While we were off Caleb has his 9mo appt. and got a flu shot. So after we were off a week, Caleb started to get sick again. The daycare called on Tuesday and said he had a fever of 102. He had ANOTHER ear infection. Doc perscribed a diff. antiboitic, and also have a shot. Well 2 days later he still had a fever, we go back and hes got a mild case of the FLU! Poor Caleb couldnt breathe, wouldnt eat, and ran a fever as high as 104. Today he is MUCH better. Friday was the last time he ran a fever, hes back to eating and sleeping normally. Ive washed and sterlized everything I can think of.

Caleb can now go from laying down to sitting. He likes to sit in his crib and play sometimes, so David and I dropped the bed a notch. I can see Caleb trying to pull up on the crib in the near future. Caleb is also learning some sign language at daycare. David and I will be trying to keep up with it. Right now we are working on "milk" and "more".

Mother's Day was nice. Daddy and Caleb got me a gift certificate for a 75 minute massage!!! 75 MINUTES!!!!! I cant wait to make my appt.

Im hoping to update everyone with some recent pics. I need to take some, especially with us as a family.

We're Getting There!!

Caleb can almost get up on all fours!!!! David and I have been helping him put his knees under him the past week. Hes actually starting to do it himself a little, and when we help him, he can stay in position for a bit. So we are getting close to crawling!!! You can tell he wants to crawl so bad. He gets on his stomach and moves his legs like he wants to crawl, then gets so mad when he cant figure it out. Hes getting good at standing too. He loves his jumper, so David and I put him in it often (especially when we cant watch him). Hes tarting to stand more than letting his legs hang, so he might not crawl for long.

Caleb went for his 9 mo. appt. last week. He's 20 pounds, 15 oz, and hes 28 1/2 inches long. He already in some 12mo clothing...lol He can understand "no", we are working on waving bye-bye. He says dadada, bababa, nununun, mumumum, and a couple of other babble sounds. Still no teeth though. Oh and hes also discovered his "private parts"..lol Everytime we go to change his diaper, his hands go south! Its something new for him, but its very funny to watch.

Im working on introducing some table foods....so far he likes mashed bananas egg yolks, mac-n-cheese, rasins (gotta be careful, these act like prunes), gerber puffs, and teething biscuts. Im working on some other items like fruits and cheeses, but the new texture is really throwing him for a loop! I just keep trying and he eventually realizes that he does like the food...haha!
